Medical Translation

Medical translation is not just about proper vocabulary. It is work on meaning, context and consistency, which ensures that the documentation is clear and sounds natural for the target audience.

Since 2016, I have been working as a medical translator and proofreader who helps companies, institutions and translation agencies create precise, coherent and linguistically natural translations.

I translate in three main areas:

  • Medical Documentation – Discharge summary, medical record, X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, scintigraphy, ultrasonography, electrocardiogram and other test results.
  • Scientific Journals – related to surgery, orthopaedics, implantology, radiology, cardiology, oncology, pulmonology and clinical trials.
  • Clinical Trials – Informed consent forms, clinical study protocols, test results, investigator’s brochures, investigational medicinal product dossiers and case report forms.

How do I work?

My main rule is quality over speed. I don’t look for quick, ready-made solutions – I analyse journals, books, sources and sentences, write and organise terminology, and check how the text will sound for the target audience.

This approach allows me to:

  • Maintain terminology consistency throughout the entire text
  • Ensure that the text sounds natural in the target language
  • Adjust the content for the recipient

I specialise mainly in British English. Thanks to my knowledge of the UK’s National Health Service and the Polish Health Care System, I can ensure that the translated documentation complies with local standards and market expectations.
